Darren Kennedy recently featured our very own Christian on Help My Style. See the feature below:
Mens hair styles tend not to vary that drastically from season to season but there are always some subtle changes. At the moment Mad Men inspired styles are having a major influence in terms of menswear editorial and catwalk. The three key styles are the Side Parting (Geek Chic); The Slick Back (Don Draper); The Textured Fringe.
According to Top hair stylist Christian from Brown Sugar, Dublin “these looks are very much taking their cues from Mad Men. The same style is being used with more texture. The look basically consists of a short back and sides and a good haircut will allow for all 3 looks to be created. This look is very much a London look, which has not yet travelled to the rest of Europe yet.”
Christian tells us how to get the look:
This style will be around for a lot longer as it has been the strongest look around in men’s hair, in at least the last 4 years. The look consists of a raw blade, which graduates to a blade 2. The side parting graduates from a slick back. The overall idea of this look is a groomed, tailored look, which has been seen on the catwalks of Tom Ford and D&G.
It is really important to get someone who has the necessary skills and has been trained to cut hair in a manner, which allows for the hair stylist to spend time with the client. In this regard, I wouldn’t recommend a Barber for this particular look.
