The fashion and entertainment set braved the nor’easter storm in NYC last week to see the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at the 69th Regiment Armory. But no matter what the temperature was outside, the runway was smoking hot, thanks to a stunning cast of Angels and energetic performances by Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars. And Brown Sugar stylist Lydia O’Carroll who worked alongside Orlando Pita to perfect the gorgeous coiffure on the night.
Supermodel Karlie Kloss walked in with a fresh, chin-length crop, but you’d never believe it with her 20-inch extensions. “We’re giving every girl extensions,” said hairstylist Orlando Pita. “There’s something about long hair that just feels incredibly sexy.” After blow-drying the hair with So Sexy Volume Mousse, Pita wrapped pieces around a one-and-a-quarter-inch iron to create loose waves. He worked his fingers through strands for piecey texture, back-brushed each bend of the wave for fullness, and finished with hair spray.
Eyes—specifically, sexy, heavily-made-up eyes—had top billing.Makeup artist Tom Pecheux, who greeted every model with two cheek kisses, dusted gold shadow on the lids and emphasized the crease with a medium brown shadow (available in the VS Makeup Eye Shadow Quad in Eye Contact). He enhanced the upper lash line with black liner and mascara and applied brown liner and mascara to the lower lash line.
He mixed a bronzer with a peachy pink blush (VS Makeup Luminous Mineral Blush Duo in Pleasure) on the cheeks. And on the lips, he layered a nude tinted gloss stick followed by a pink tinted gloss stick. This makeup looks good on everyone, he says, but don’t be disappointed if you don’t look like model Doutzen Kroes after you apply it.
The models were the first to wear the brand new Victoria’s Secret Nail Lacquers, which will hit shelves in January. Victoria’s Secret models got two coats of Bitten, a sheer nude-pink. And PINK models received a bright, sparkly pink manicure with two coats of Peep Show.
