The South Studios, Dublin were the venue for Brown Sugar’s Sunday Independent Life Magazine shoot. This creative space provided the perfect location for these stunning images.
All hair and make up for the shoot by the Brown Sugar creative team, who had fun with colours and styles. Clearly going from strength to strength in the fashion stakes, creating some amazing looks.
Stylists – Christian Shannon, Jennifer Lil Buckley, Carolann Moylan, James Coleman, Elayane Archbold, Roy Leigh, and Laura Reid worked tirelessly to produce these looks, along with colourists – Peter O’Donnell, Aimee Penco and Mark Byrne. Make up was by Cara Macken, Dearbhla Keenan, and Vivien Pomeroy.
The feature piece titled ‘Colour Me In’ highlights the fact that Brown Sugar was the epitome of the Celtic Tiger, creating a one stop glamour emporium, but that it now continues to be “a favourite of fashion mavens”.
Mark O’Keeffe says Brown Sugar are changing with the times: “At the time we opened there was a huge amount of red-carpet an society lunches going on. Right now, that has all finished. Saturdays are still a big wedding/occasion-wear day. But hair and make-up is not about glamour any more. It’s become more about people’s individual needs. They mightn’t have the money as much as they used to – so we have loyalty cards and gifts for our clients to make it a bit easier”.
Photography was by Agata Stoinska, the shoot was assisted by Dominika Kijak and Kenny Whittle. With styling by Aisling Farinella, and assisted by Kieran Kilgallon. Fashion editor for the shoot was Constance Harris.
The shoot showcases what Brown Sugar is all about – high fashion, fabulous, unique colours and styles and most importantly the Brown Sugar creative team is always at the forefront of trend. That is why Sugar Cubed, the eagerly anticipated younger sister salon of Brown Sugar, will launch at the end of May! This edgy new salon will encompass urban street style, mixed with fashionable flare and design.
