Racing season is well and truly under way…and as we are to Ascot this weekend we thought we would bring you the latest.
Royal Ascot always leads the way in the style stakes, with ladies famously pushing the boundaries with their headwear.
While most have plumped for pretty, this year more than a few have chosen an outlandish route to sartorial success.
And while the hats seem to be as extravagant as ever, the hair du jour seems to be a very simple updo, which is very tight on the head with a bun low on back of the head; the neat hair balancing out the statement hat.
One of the stand outs from Ascot so far is Katherine Jenkins, who made a brilliantly bold entrance in a orange colour-blocked dress by Roksanda Ilincic and a matching orange and pink fascinator by top Irish milliner Phillip Treacy.
Another beauty who got it spot on was actress Aishwarya Rai, who was the epitome of elegance as she headed up a host of glamorous ladies attending day one of Royal Ascot.
Danielle Lineker went for a more muted palette and looked lovely in a pale pink 1930s-style frock that she teamed with a large white hat.
Keep make-up minimal and jewellery low key to compliment the overall look and you’re ready for the fashion parade that is Ladies Day.
